Fairway Ford has been family-owned and operated since 1966. We are located in the heart of the Upstate in Greenville, South Carolina. We have a committed and dedicated staff with many years of experience of satisfying our customers' needs. Our dealership sells a wide variety new Ford models including the F-series, Bronco, Mustang, Explorer, Escape, Expedition, Edge, Flex, and the EcoSport near Easley and Greer. In addition to new Ford vehicles, we sell a selection of pre-owned vehicles and Commercial Fleet Ford Vehicles. We offer a service and maintenance center, auto body repair center, and auto parts and accessories center. We are also an authorized Yeti Dealer!

Our History

Our story began when J.E. Horne purchased the old Dixie Ford Dealership in 1961. He commenced the dealership's operation as Horne Motor Company on Buncombe Street in downtown Greenville. Mr. Horne was primarily remembered as a teacher of those entering the automobile business in South Carolina.

In May of 1966, Mr. Foster McKissick, II purchased Mr. Horne's interest, and the company's name was changed to Fairway Ford, Inc. A year later, an eight-and-a-half acre tract of land was acquired on Laurens Road. In May 1967, Fairway moved into new facilities regarded by many as the best in the region. Outstanding sales resulted in phenomenal growth. Louis Williamson, one of Mr. Horne's employees, became president and helped lead, which ultimately contributed to Fairway's success.

On the evening of October 25, 1990, tragedy struck when Foster McKissick, II was killed in a plane crash near Georgetown, South Carolina. His son, A. Foster McKissick, III, had executive control of Fairway Ford, Inc, at the time of his father's passing and continued as its president.
